The Holly Ehrlich Memorial Scholarship was established in 2024 by Scott Ehrlich and the Ehrlich family to honor their wife, mother, and WCU alum, Holly Ehrlich. Holly passed away on September 16, 2023, at the age of 62. She was a Colorado native, a lover of the outdoors, and an involved member of the communities she lived in. Most of all, she was a loving and dedicated mother to her three sons. She was eager to help friends and strangers and inspired those around her with her kindness and warm smile. Growing up, she was an avid adventurer and earned an accounting degree from Western State College. She became a successful and dedicated public accountant and practiced for most of her adult life. Holly knew what it took to pass the challenging CPA exam and went on to do an amazing job managing the finances for the family’s car dealerships.
The Holly Ehrlich Memorial Scholarship was endowed with a generous gift of $175,000 by Scott Ehrlich and the Community Foundation Ehrlich Family Fund. The scholarship will support Colorado residents enrolled in the School of Business pursuing an accounting degree and following in Holly’s footsteps, continuing her legacy for generations to come.
“The family of Holly Ehrlich is proud to provide a gift to Western and honor her life. She was always proud and fortunate to have been educated at WSC. Her studies benefitted her in many ways, especially in accounting, where she was truly gifted. May all those who get to utilize these funds go on to success in their field of study as Holly did.”
